About the information on this page
Haven Blessings is preparing to open, and licensing is in progress. This page describes our intended approach to residential support. No services are being offered at this time, and specific services will be confirmed as licensing is completed.
Understanding the model
What is residential sponsorship?
Residential sponsorship is a model of support designed to feel like home rather than a facility.
In general, a person lives in a family-style home with a trained individual or family — often called a sponsor — who provides everyday support. A licensed provider organization arranges, supervises, and supports that home, helping to make sure the person receives consistent, quality care.
Haven Blessings is being developed as a residential sponsorship and support organization. We are drawn to this model because it centers relationships, stability, and ordinary home life — the things that help people feel they truly belong.
General information
At a glance: how sponsorship generally works

-

This describes the model in general terms. It is not a description of confirmed Haven Blessings services.
Our philosophy of support
What we believe good support looks like.
These beliefs are the foundation of everything we are preparing. They describe the kind of organization we are committed to becoming.
-
Person-centered
Each person’s preferences, goals, culture, and voice guide how support is shaped — not the other way around.
-
Strengths-based
We build on what each person can do and wants to learn, celebrating growth at every pace.
-
Relationship-focused
Trusting, consistent relationships are at the heart of good support and a sense of home.
-
Community-connected
A full life includes neighbors, friends, interests, and places beyond the front door.

Our intended approach
How we plan to shape support, together.
When we open, we intend to build each person’s support step by step, in partnership. Details will be confirmed before we begin offering services.
-
Getting to know each person
Learning about the person’s history, preferences, strengths, routines, and what a good day looks like to them.
-
Planning together
Working alongside the person, their family or guardian, and their support coordinator, guided by the person’s own support plan.
-
A thoughtful match
Considering whether the home, the household, and its rhythms are a good fit for the person — and the person for the home.
-
Settling in at a comfortable pace
Making moving in as gentle as possible, with time to adjust and familiar comforts close at hand.
-
Reviewing and adjusting
Checking in regularly and adapting support as needs, goals, and seasons of life change.
Transparency
Still to be confirmed.
We would rather tell you what we do not know yet than make promises we cannot keep. We will update this website as each of these is confirmed.
